The Kenilworth Union Church is the oldest Christian nondenominational community church in America, a Christian family of faith who comes together to worship, to find spiritual inspiration and guidance and then goes out in service to others. The first constitution adopted by the church reads: “This church was organized for the worship of God and the advancement of His Kingdom. We acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ as the Great Head of the church and receive the Holy Scriptures as authoritative in matters of faith and life. We believe that Christ's church is one and pray for the realization of its unity through all the earth. Recognizing the minor differences which exist among believers as being consistent with Christian integrity, we have united a church of Jesus Christ upon the great essentials of the Christian faith.”
Today, Kenilworth Union Church defines itself as an ecumenical church community whose identity is formed by its devotion to God. Independent of any particular denomination, the church sees itself as a part of the wider Christian community. Kenilworth Union actively supports other denominational efforts, especially in our outreach, mission and support of seminary students.
